What to Expect on Orientation Day

Getting Started
At Sniff and Wiggle, we want your dog’s first experience with us to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. To ensure we can give each new pup the attention they need, we limit the number of orientations each day.
On the morning of your dog’s Orientation Day, a trained staff member will greet you and your pup, review your application, and ask a few additional questions to better understand your dog’s personality, preferences, and play style. This introduction helps your dog begin to feel at ease in their new environment.
Once you leave, your dog will be brought to our “camp pavilion,” a calm and comfortable waiting area. Here, we spend a few moments one-on-one with your pup, allowing them to get familiar with the staff before settling in.
When it’s time for playtime, we guide your dog on a leash into the play yard, allowing them time to explore and adjust to the new surroundings. We then introduce a friendly, well-socialized dog we know well to observe their interaction. If your pup is comfortable and showing positive body language, we gradually introduce additional playmates—up to a small group of about 10 dogs.
Throughout the day, our staff carefully monitors your dog’s comfort, body language, and social interactions to ensure they are enjoying their time and adjusting well to the new environment.
Why is Orientation Important?
We limit our orientations to only three per day so that each new dog receives the individual attention they deserve. This patient, step-by-step approach allows your pup to become familiar with our staff and other campers at a comfortable pace. Our goal is to make sure every dog feels relaxed, safe, and excited to come back for more tail-wagging fun!
